FundeFlores, committed to social development
FundeFlores is a Foundation committed to the social development of the municipality of Agustín Codazzi, Cesar. Its main objective is to train entrepreneurial leaders, respectful of natural resources, lovers of agriculture and industry. The Foundation seeks to transform the region into an outstanding agro-industrial center in science and technology, through comprehensive training and education.
History of FundeFlores
The Nuestra Señora de las Flores Educational Foundation was founded in 1983 by Mrs. María Victoria de Murgas. Her initiative arose from the need to improve the educational opportunities of her collaborators and the impact of this on the competitiveness of the business and the well-being of people. The Foundation began with the teaching of reading and writing for workers in the field area and surrounding communities, and later expanded its educational coverage to offer free education to children and youngsters children of workers and members of the community.
Expansion of educational coverage
In 2004, FundeFlores expanded its educational coverage to cover the 10th and 11th grade vocational school, emphasizing the Agroindustrial specialty. Currently, the Foundation has 291 active students and 205 graduates. Through its focus on comprehensive training and education, FundeFlores seeks to prepare its students to lead and transform the region into an agro-industrial center of excellence.
Educational achievements of FundeFlores
FundeFlores has made significant progress in its goal of offering quality education. The Foundation is the first institution at the municipal level according to the averages obtained during the last years in the ICFES. At the departmental level, it is among the top 13 schools in the region, including official and unofficial schools. In addition, in the subdivision by municipalities and taking into account the best of each one of these, the Foundation is located in third place. The Company also invests in supporting students in grades 10 and 11 with the accompaniment of the PREICFES training course.
Support for higher education
FundeFlores not only focuses on basic and secondary education, but also supports higher education. The Foundation offers a university subsidy to the graduates of the school with the purpose of collaborating in the construction of their professional project and that of their families. In this way, FundeFlores not only focuses on education, but also cares about the professional and personal development of its students.
